"Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them."
I have tears in my eyes.
Like I don’t even think you guys understand the magnitude of this tweet. The sheer humanity of this, they are dying over there. No they are being SLAUGHTERED but they have the ability to still think to help people they have never met, people they will never meet. They understand what the people in Ferguson are going through, they see it because they are going through it too.

Green Man Burning.
HI EVERYBODY I just came back from Green Man and it was SO GREAT and I don’t want to be all “this one time at green man” about it but ahhhh SO GREAT here is what I did in rambling form:
I was kind of worried that festivalling would be too intense for my frail sensibilities but the camping part was completely fine, mostly because Emma was so well prepared with the tent and trangia. It was SO FREEZING at night but we all snuggled so that fixed that. Every day started with a baby wipe bath - I’m gonna say right now that I didn’t shower for 4 days but that’s what dry shampoo was made for.
The whole campsite had such a friendly atmosphere, there were stalls for kids everywhere with little sciencey things and that and edgy shops with arty band music stuff. Also, SO MUCH FOOD I almost cried at how good a burrito was and also had something called a breakfast fry-ella from the paella stand sweet holy jesus. There was a huge green man structure thing that you could sit in and get photos with and then last night they set it on fire and all these fireworks came out and its face melted which was sort of terrifying. I didn’t bring a phone or camera so I’m borrowing these totally great photos (thanks man).
THE MUSIC the music was so much fun and so diverse… Not gonna lie I’m not particularly on the ball with music so I only really knew Beirut, First Aid Kit, Neutral Milk Hotel and Daughter but Emma took us to all these great bands like Fat White Family who are kind of dark and grungy and totally got naked and then really jumpy folk gypsy groups like the John Langan Band and everybody just did whatever the fuck they liked, some crazy dancing and some just absorbing it all and staying kind of still.
They carried on playing music in the tents until like 4 which I somehow managed to stay up to (probably because we had power naps at like 11 to make it through) and ahh it just didn’t stop being fun?? OH ALTHOUGH some horrible girl was making fun of my friend’s dancing so like a mature and well adjusted adult I pretended to trip and pushed her over and pulled out some hair yknow I don’t even feel bad for this but I do need to grow up it’s just that everybody else was so friendly and lovely ahh.
ALSO I hope everybody is proud that I managed to get up for an acupuncture workshop at 10am although turns out that shit is really painful. We tried going to a laughter workshop (which I thought was laughing yoga and was why I was so excited for it) but the instructor didn’t show </3
